WOW! A Mermaid AND A Siren?
Nobody is saying it, so I will!
1) A "Siren" is a Siren, and a "Mermaid" is a Mermaid!
2) "Siren" is the modern/English spelling. Original
spelling "SYRIN" was Greek, as all three creatures
derived from Greek myth. The letter "E" didn't exist
in the original Greek alphabet. "E" was never added
till centuries later.
3) "Siren", "Mermaid" & "Banshee" are three separate
breeds of the same species.
A) "Siren" - Lives on both land and water. And, there
is no such thing as a male Siren. They are a
female breed only. Although they are vocal, they
only sing. It is said that the Siren's song can draw
the sailor into the sea and to their death. But,
that's so. The Siren's song is a song of seduction
for the one who hears it. It is hypnotic &
intoxicating. The sailor seduced by a Siren's song
will jump ship & swim in search of the seducer.
But, they DO NOT drown the sailor. The Siren
merely mates with the sailor to create an offspring
that will take her place when she dies from the
baby suckling her blood.
B) "Mermaid" - Lives in water only! As it has no feet
to walk on land, neither does it have lungs for
breathing out of water. Nor do they have a voice
as Sirens & Banshees do. Therefore, out of
envy, the Mermaid will pull the sailor deep in
the water & mate with him as he drowns. And,
Mermaids are all female. So, there is no such
thing as a "Merman", except for Ethel Merman...
And, she's in a category all of her own!
C) "Banshee" - Lives only in the woods & forests.
And, they never touch water. Although a
Banshee also has a voice, it is unlike the Siren.
There is no such thing as a male Banshee.
Therefore, the Banshees voice is also used to find
a person for mating. The Banshees wailing
causes a person to freeze in fear. The Banshee
then drags the person away & mate. While
mating, their cry is use to make the person cry, so
the Banshee can drink their tears. During the
pregnancy, the Banshee will keep the person alive
to drink their tears for the offspring to suckle along
with her blood. Once the mother dies, the
offspring will then feed off the bodies of both
mother & mate.
Ain't that crazy?! You know what's even crazier than that? I just made all that shit up on the fly! This is what happens when you love to write, have chronic insomnia, and a bit bat crap crazy.
And, now you know!
